Perhaps Loretta's overreacting in this strip.  But don't forget Loretta's reaction when she first learned that magic existed -- she's generally pretty level-headed, but I'm sure she's felt at least a little jealous over Aylia being able to use magic all this time.  Especially now that she's the only person in their apartment now who isn't a magic-user: Aylia, X, Daria, and Felincia all use magic regularly!  So she'd be bound to get miffed to learn there had been no good reason for her being excluded.
