I like Loretta's reaction to finding out about Aylia's magic.  She's surprised, but she accepts it -- especially since it's obviously so useful.  Besides, Loretta's probably used to strange people -- she's one herself, to some extent!  And she isn't nosy, so other people's oddities don't bother her that much.  Even if they are something as odd as, well, magic.  (Grin.)
