Now, Aylia wasn't completely wrong in Strip #133 -- it is true enough that you have to be born with the ability to use magic.  What she failed to understand was that very, very few people are born without it, both in her world and ours.  It's reasonable enough that she would jump to the wrong conclusions about that, however: her own mother has never bothered to learn magic, most likely because she doesn't know (or care) that she could.  And her mother is from our world.
