Aylia's "speech" in the last panel reminds me of writing query letters to publishers, especially when I first started out.  I didn't have any real credentials, but I felt like I was ready to get published (I wasn't, those first few years, but that's beside the point), so I had to think of creative ways to show that my life experience counted for something relevant.  Similarly, Aylia can't talk here about assistantship experience, degrees, or even classes taken, but she can be creative.
