Aylia didn't bother to attend one final her first or second semester, and while she did go to one in her third, little testing actually happened.  She's also never put forth effort to pass a test before, so the idea of someone ordering her to attend a final -- and attempt to pass it! -- is extremely galling.  She has a much better idea about how this school system works than she did when she first came, but that doesn't make her any more enthused about the thought of following it.  She didn't choose to come, after all.
