Daria really is progressing at an incredible rate with her understanding of machines.  Virtually all the successful ones she's come up with before have used at least as much magic as technology -- but a circuit board would be pure engineering, especially if she followed the instructions Eric would have given her, based on what he knows.  She's justifiably extremely proud of that circuit board, because it's the trickiest thing she's ever made . . . and so understandably hurt that no one in class wanted to see it.
