It isn't that Linnea isn't willing to change her mind about things if the right proof comes along -- but she finds it very annoying when someone insists that something exists without offering any proof, and then expects her to just accept that.  And magic would be a particularly touchy subject for her, because her boyfriend keeps trying to do exactly that about it.  By the way, I'm not sure what Aylia has in mind in the last panel, but I imagine it's some leap of logic only her mind would make.
