In case you've forgotten what mermaids are like, Aylia talks about them in Strip #72.  She's overgeneralizing, of course, but that is still an accurate description of their society.  They're known to be the most immature of the sentient species, since they love goofing off and find annoying people hilarious.  Doesn't mean they're all bad, of course -- there are plenty of decent mermaids out there, though any mermaid who reminds Kuralla of her older sister is probably not one of them.
