I decided to use this strip to explain a few very important things.  First, X does not get her magical power from being a halfbreed: hers spring from the same source as Aylia's, their common grandfather.  Second, interbreeding between species is impossible . . . without the help of magic very few people are at all proficient with.  And third, the reason X's parents came to our world at all was that their families wouldn't approve of them getting married, and they wanted to be together.
