Translation spells are very common in Aylia's world, though they're kind of tricky to manage.  And transportation spells that can move you from one world to another almost always include some kind of translation spell in them, to keep you from having to cast extra spells once you get there.  So that's why people like Albert and Alassa and Felincia can speak English when they come to our world . . . it isn't because they know a word of it on their own.
