Have you ever worn your hair in a long braid to go to sleep?  Well, I have (I do every night, like Aylia does), and it is possible to have it dangle straight down like that occasionally, if you're up in a top bunk and roll onto your side or something.  It's not a big deal when that happens, but it is a bit of an odd feeling, so of course you have to tug it back up quickly.  And, meanwhile, X and Daria are very themselves.  Only Daria could be so enthusiastic that she completely misses the point about a great many things.
