I love the oddness that is Melody's hair.  In water, it's long and loose, in gorgeously flowing waves.  Out of water, it jumps into teeny corkscrew curls that barely reach past shoulder-length.  Of course, the longer her head's out of water, the more her hair dries and sproings tightly, so when she's just barely broken the surface, the difference isn't ridiculous.  It cracks me up to think that, if she were human, her hair would be a thick, unmanageable frizz-mane.  Yet, in her natural state, she looks elegantly perfect.
