Naturally, Aylia would need to bring up the idea of Eric and Daria having regular study sessions at some point -- Daria's hardly organized enough to remember to set that kind of thing up herself -- and she wouldn't go to Eric directly, because she doesn't know him particularly well; he's Daria's friend, while Linnea's hers.  And, happily, I was able to use this start to lead the conversation in a direction I've been wanting to take the story since the idea first occurred to me, a few months ago.
