My sister's reaction to this strip was to shout, "Urrrghhhh!  He's so annoying!"  This made me grin, because that was the kind of reaction I expected from her.  Thing is, Aylia's father is usually "I don't care" about anything his children are doing, which is why he's rarely been as big a problem for Aylia as her mother, even though he's much smarter.  Unfortunately, he also automatically takes his wife's side with any big conflict she might get in with her children, whether or not it's the "right" one.
