My hope with the previous storyline was that it would make people go, "Whoa.  Wait.  It's possible to continue the story from there?!" and then continue on in excited anticipation.  I've read many stories where I thought, "Why can't the main character have what they want?  Why does failure always have to be the only option?  Wouldn't it be cool to see the main character win, and then have other conflicts following?"  I love it when a story has the courage to change, without violating its heart.
