We've met Leedis and heard Sue-Ellen mentioned before, in Strip #940.  They definitely are Alassa's sort of people -- not friends, because Alassa doesn't have any real ones, but they're the kind of people she likes hanging around for the purpose of showing off and one-upmanship.  Aylia's mother loves fancy parties and frilly things, so she blithely ignores all the backstabbing and cattiness that goes on behind the scenes of nobles' social interaction.  Aylia notices, and hates it; Alassa joins in gleefully.
