Since this conversation is taking place around early evening, and Aylia's already in her nightgown, she magics her hair into a braid in the second panel (a not-so-subtle way, in Aylia's view, of saying, "I'm going to go to bed soon, so leave me alone").  Stefanee doesn't catch this at all, and so continues the conversation.  She really does want to teach the language to someone else -- she's being completely sincere in the third panel.  But Aylia's suspicions about why are probably also not wrong.
