Gavin's mother, at about three and a half centuries old, would have been about twice the size Cecelia is now (in other words, huge). Dragons don't have growth spurts like humans do; they grow steadily throughout their lives. But they do grow more and more slowly as they age, so an eight-hundred-year-old dragon wouldn't be much larger than a seven-hundred-year-old, though a three-hundred-year-old dragon would be significantly larger than a two-hundred-year-old.
