I really wanted to show a strip with Aylia and Alassa talking, so here it is.  There are very few things they agree upon, but their mother is among them.  I was originally going to have Aylia's father put the wards around Alassa to keep her from transporting, but I wound up deciding that that isn't part of the way that magic works, and so discarded the idea.  Instead, I went to him using the wards on a location, which is how I originally envisioned them working.  I think that choice improved this strip.
