Now, one of the reasons Loretta's so popular with the boys in her swordfighting class is very simple: there aren't a lot of girls at the knight school.  (Gender equality or otherwise, most girls just aren't interested in being warriors.)  Unfortunately, some of this interest also spills over to Elan, even though she's not human, there are prejudices in almost every culture against inter-species dating, and Elan is very much not interested in dating humans.  Can you blame her for getting grouchy about that subject?
