As I've mentioned previously, I like the idea of Loretta have multiple potential romantic interests, instead of finding Mr. Right immediately.  The idea of a person's first love being their perfect match is wonderful and charming and sweet, but most people aren't lucky enough to have it happen with them.  In fact, when you get down to it, that isn't even what happened with Jenny or Albert -- both had dated other people before they met each other.  Though Felincia is Reg's first girlfriend.  ;)
