The second panel of this strip actually owes quite a bit to one strip in The Sealed Gate.  I was trying to think of something interesting for the machine to do, and then that strip popped into my head, and I thought, "Hey, yeah!  Fun idea!  Flashlight!"  So, thank you, artist of The Sealed Gate, for in the inspiration!  (Grin.)  She's a great storyteller, and a far better artist than me, and a great personal friend.  In fact, I'm sure I've mentioned her before, as the Gorgon's real-life counterpart.  ^_^
