See, Daria's pretty naive when it comes to a lot of things, especially when she doesn't know she's supposed to think them through.  She's never been to anything like a school -- of course she wouldn't automatically jump to the same conclusions about them that would seem obvious to us.  Of course, it isn't that hard to figure out that in order to learn anything, you should probably attend the classes you've signed up for, but hey, Daria doesn't always think obvious things through.
