Yes, X is currently floating up on the ceiling.  And no, she didn't have to use Daria's catapult to get there.  X's wings may not be strong enough to lift a human body up in the air, but they're strong enough to loft her upwards if she's used a potion to make herself weightless.  I don't see this as something she'd get around to doing that often, since weightlessness potions take a long time to make, and she'd rather use the time to blow things up.  But sometimes, why not get a little change of scene?
