True, we already have a character who's very logical and dispassionate: X.  (Grin.)  But X is very much a hands-on person, especially when it comes to blowing things up; if she sees something she thinks needs doing, she'll go do it.  Adelaide, on the other hand, prefers to just learn how things work and never apply her knowledge to anything practical.  She's all theoretician, which makes her brilliant in the academic world, though her ideas would mean little to anyone else.
