Of course, translation magic is a much weaker way to communicate than learning another language for real -- meaning always gets lost in translation between two languages.  But it's useful if you're traveling, or don't have time to learn a language far different from your own, or don't care if the exact meaning of all your words doesn't always come through.  By the way, if you don't remember who Relagor is, he was introduced in this strip.  He's quite the troublemaker!
