Well, at least there's a backup plan, though she probably had to make it up on the spur of the moment.  As for Aylia not having friends at home, of course she didn't have many of them -- aristocracy aren't supposed to associate with commoners, and I don't see Aylia being impressed with the snobs most aristocracy are.  Of course, it wouldn't help that she's so sarcastic, especially with anything that gets in her way . . .
