Aylia's mother is just as irresponsible and flighty as she seemed at the beginning of the strip.  Her appearance might have changed slightly, but her personality hasn't!  She's as flighty as Aylia's father is vague.  And Aylia's father isn't stupid -- he's probably average intelligence, possibly above it.  But he's very vague -- he doesn't tend to notice the world around him, or even care it's there.  Probably a good thing he wasn't the one to gain the throne . . .
