I love this strip!  It's hilarious, but it also tells you something important about Nicole -- she has a happy home life.  In fact, her family's the most stable of any of the roommates, except for possibly X's.  Ironic that X and Nicole would have something that fundamental in common!  But then, it makes sense, too . . . X is the way she is because her parents let her be herself, and Nicole's the way she is because she hasn't learned to grow up and get away from her family yet.  She's too happy with them.
