Not that my high school didn't give any time off for Thanksgiving -- they did give us Thanksgiving Day, just no other time off.  Which was an improvement over my junior high school, which didn't give us any time off for the holiday -- of course, that's not surprising, since it was a British school!  My high school was an American school, technically, but since it was in a country where they didn't celebrate Thanksgiving, they weren't required to give us any time off at all.
