I used this strip to explain something, too -- the reason the mermaid just vanished after Felincia showed up.  Looking back over the previous series, I realized I'd never addressed that, even though I knew what had happened to her.  So I brought it up here, instead -- Nicole was chasing the mermaid out.  Which explains why Nicole wasn't part of the Felincia-Albert-Jenny mess, too.
